The Brief
A coffee brand that respects its roots.
Naseej (meaning "weaving" in Arabic) is a fictional specialty coffee house based in Muharraq. The brief: build an identity that feels rooted in Bahraini craft traditions, yet belongs on a modern café shelf — Arabic and English, traditional and contemporary, at once.
- Founded in Muharraq, Kingdom of Bahrain
- Specialty roastery + café
- Bilingual brand (Arabic-first, English support)
The Idea
The loom as a visual language.
We built the entire identity system around the rhythm of a loom — vertical threads, horizontal weaves, and the geometric patterns of traditional Bahraini textiles. The logo is a monogram "N" constructed from these weaving lines, and every pattern element draws from the same grid.
- Logo built from a woven grid
- Arabic calligraphy integrated with Latin counterpart
- Pattern system derived from traditional weaving
The Execution
Designing every touchpoint.
The concept explores the full identity in context — signage, packaging, café menus, cups, and merchandise. Warm terracotta and deep ink tones anchor the palette, with a soft cream background that lets the weave patterns do the talking.
- Primary + secondary logo suite
- Typography pairing (Arabic + Latin)
- Color palette: terracotta, ink, cream
- Packaging, cups, menus, signage
The Objective
What this concept is trying to achieve.
This is a self-initiated concept — not a commissioned client project. The objective was to demonstrate how we approach identity work for a bilingual F&B brand: research-led, culturally rooted, and visually contemporary. No results are claimed, because none exist yet.
This concept was created as a self-initiated exploration — not a commissioned client project. It demonstrates our approach, not a delivered result.
